TEACHING VACANCIES FOR DRUMDUAN SCHOOL STARTING MID-AUGUST 2022 - Deadline for applications is May 1, 2022

Drumduan school is looking for skilled, enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced staff.

Drumduan School is situated in Moray, in the north of Scotland. Although the school lies within the small town of Forres, it's feel and surroundings are rural. The school sits between the mountains of the Cairngorms and the sea of the Moray Firth in Moray's unique warm, dry microclimate.

Drumduan's upper school is still small, but it is expanding rapidly. We do not offer exams. This enables us to cover the wide and inspiring Steiner/Waldorf curriculum in the upper school right up to class 12. The availability of mountains, rivers and the sea so close to our doorstep allows us to put emphasis on outdoor learning, hands on experiential work and outdoor pursuits.

We have just embarked on the IE/ACTS assessment program in our upper school that can enable students with the right levels and qualifications direct access to further education and university. We are delighted that the taught components of the modules give equal emphasis to main lesson work as well as the subject lessons.

Our current class 7/8 will be divided into a class 8 and a class 9 from August 2022.

We are therefore looking for an experienced and enthusiastic teacher to take on the role of transition teacher for our class 8. The transition teacher will be responsible for the pastoral care and educational care of the class, preparing them for transitioning into the upper school. This role will include the organisation of a class exchange abroad.  Our ideal candidate will have additional skills to offer for teaching in the upper school.

We are also looking for part time support in other areas of the upper school in both subject and mainlesson work:

- chemistry, physics and maths

- humanities

- outdoor pursuits support.

In addition we are also seeking the following teaching staff who will work in both the middle and upper school areas.

- music (not choir)

- woodwork.
