History of the School

Drumduan Upper School was founded by Ian Sutherland McCook and Tilda Swinton along with a group of parents and teachers keen to provide a new approach to education for young people.

The school opened in September 2013 with the intention to cater for students aged 15 - 18. Krzysztof Zajaczkowski was appointed Head of Education at this time.

In 2014 Drumduan acquired premises within the campus of a local junior school that took students from age 3-15.

In 2015 Drumduan took over management and ownership of the adjacent junior school and thereby created a school capable of educating students from 3 -18 on the same campus. Since that time the emphasis has been on successfully integrating what was previously two separate schools.
