WHAT IS WALDORF EDUCATION?

Waldorf Education is an internationally recognized, holistic curriculum from Kindergarten to Class 12 set in an unhurried, supportive and creative environment.  It is a rich, experiential education; based around a deep connection to nature, and the creativity that flows from children being given the space to develop in a healthy and inspiring learning environment.

The curriculum emphasis is on meeting the developmental needs of the growing child in a healthy, balanced and creative way.  Academic study is enhanced and balanced with movement, music and artistic work, with crafts and outdoor activities part of the daily rhythm. Children are taught through the 'hands, heart and head' so that their learning is embodied and meaningful, not simply facts learned by rote. As they progress through the school, these strong foundations support them as they move more into the intellectual realm; allowing them to truly think critically and creatively- skills that are vital for all citizens of today's world.

“Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education.” ― Rudolf Steiner.

There are currently over 1,100 Steiner Schools worldwide in 64 different countries, and nearly 2,000 Early Years settings in more than 70 countries!  It is the fastest growing education movement in the world as more parents and schools grow disillusioned with their experience of the traditional mainstream.
